Friends in Cars Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 2, 2026
Friends in Cars (“Friends in Cars,” “FiC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a live voice service that matches adults for temporary, one-to-one conversations based on conversation contexts they choose.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Friends in Cars collects, how we use it, when service providers may process it on our behalf, and how information associated with the service is handled.
1. Information We Collect
Phone Number and Participant Identification
We collect and use your verified phone number to provide access to Friends in Cars, recognize returning participants, help prevent misuse, and apply safety measures.
We maintain a participant identifier associated with your use of the service. We do not use your phone number to select advertising offers.
Conversation Context
Before a conversation, you may select one or more conversation contexts, such as Work & Career, Life & Relationships, or Interests & Ideas.
We use those selections to help match you with another participant.
If you choose to receive offers, your selected conversation context may also determine which offers are eligible to be presented during that session.
You may also provide optional free-text information about what is on your mind. Friends in Cars does not use that free-text entry to select advertising offers.
Live Voice Conversations
Friends in Cars enables live voice conversations between participants.
Friends in Cars does not record or create transcripts of your conversations.
Information necessary to transmit and operate the live conversation is processed through communications infrastructure used to provide the service.
Session and Technical Information
While a session is active, we process information necessary to establish and operate it. This may include session identifiers, participant identifiers, selected conversation contexts, matching information, connection information, and operational status.
Ordinary session records are designed to be deleted after the session and its operational cleanup period.
Certain information may be retained when reasonably necessary for safety, security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or resolution of an incident.
Offers
Before a conversation, you may choose whether you want to receive offers and, if so, how many.
If you choose to receive offers, Friends in Cars may use the conversation context you selected to determine which Partner offers are eligible for that session.
We do not use the contents of your live conversation to select offers.
We do not use your optional free-text conversation description to select offers.
Information necessary to deliver, display, administer, or measure an offer may be processed when an offer is presented or used.
Website, Beta, and Partner Information
If you join a beta list, submit a Partner inquiry or beta offer, or otherwise contact us, we may collect information you voluntarily provide, such as your email address, business or contact information, website, and the contents of your submission.
Our website may also collect ordinary technical and analytics information associated with use of the site.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- operate Friends in Cars;
- verify and recognize participants;
- match participants for conversations;
- establish and maintain live voice sessions;
- provide offers participants have chosen to receive;
- maintain safety and enforce service rules;
- detect and address misuse, fraud, or technical problems;
- communicate with beta participants and Partners;
- understand and improve the service; and
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information to advertisers.
We do not provide advertisers with recordings or transcripts of your conversations.
We do not build advertising profiles from what you say during conversations.
3. Service Providers
Friends in Cars uses third-party service providers to operate portions of the service, including application and database infrastructure, live voice communications, email delivery, and website analytics.
Those providers may process information on our behalf as necessary to provide their services.
We require service providers that process user information on our behalf to handle that information in accordance with applicable contractual obligations and to provide protections appropriate to the information and services involved.
4. Advertising Partners
Partners may provide offers presented to participants who have affirmatively chosen to receive them.
Friends in Cars does not provide Partners with recordings or transcripts of participant conversations.
If you voluntarily visit a Partner's website, redeem an offer, make a purchase, or otherwise interact directly with a Partner, information you provide directly to that Partner is subject to the Partner's own terms and privacy practices.
5. Data Retention
Friends in Cars is designed so that ordinary conversation-session records do not become a permanent conversation history.
Ordinary session information is deleted following the session and its operational cleanup period.
Certain participant-level information may be retained across sessions so Friends in Cars can recognize returning participants and operate safety, security, and abuse-prevention measures.
Other information, such as beta registrations, Partner submissions, communications, and records needed for legal, security, or operational purposes, may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes.
6. Security
We use administrative and technical measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.
No method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
7. Your Choices and Privacy Requests
You choose the conversation context you want to enter and whether to provide optional free-text information.
You also choose whether to receive offers and, if so, how many you are willing to receive during a conversation.
You may contact Friends in Cars to ask questions about your information or to request access, correction, or deletion of information associated with you.
We will evaluate and respond to privacy requests as required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Certain information may be retained where reasonably necessary for safety, security, abuse prevention, legal obligations, dispute resolution, or other legitimate purposes.
Privacy requests may be sent to support@friendsincars.com.
8. Age Requirement and Children's Privacy
Friends in Cars is intended only for adults age 18 or older. You may not participate in Friends in Cars if you are under 18.
We do not knowingly permit children under 18 to participate in the service. If you believe a person under 18 has provided personal information to Friends in Cars, please contact us at support@friendsincars.com.

We may update this Privacy Policy as Friends in Cars develops or its practices change.
When we make changes, we will update the effective date above. If a change materially affects how we use information previously collected from you, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent where required.
